Gabe watches for Dad at the 17 mile marker of the Marine Corps Marathon.
Dad found the time to stop for a photo shoot AND still run a 3:16 marathon!

Marathon Madness
Dad has trained his *&# for the marathon tomorrow. In addition to training, he also raised almost $2000 for the Diabetes Action Team, an achievement in itself! No matter what his time is, he will be our hero.
Here we are at the Marine Corps Marathon expo.
So much cool stuff to see, free giveaways, toys, snacks, music....and what does Gabe find to play with? A broom.

More Farm Fun
Some highlights from our school farm trip last week...
Gabe and his buddy Liam
These shoes were too big
This was on the tractor ride...when we got stuck in the water.
Gabe going down the frog slide
Ma and Gabe in front of the pig pen. Gabe would run up and scream ''PIGGIES PIGGIES PIGGIES!".
On the hay ride with buddies Aden and Jodie next to us...and of course the super frog bike rider in the background (weird?!).
Love. The. Curls.
Liam and Gabe goofing off
The ride home :-)

Road Trippin'
We went to Roanoke and Shreveport two weeks ago and had a great time visiting family in both towns. Here are some highlights.
Here is Gabe playing with large farm equipment at the family pipe yard. They just so happened to be filming a movie at the pipe yard so we got to see some of the action when we were not chasing Gabe around and removing him from forklifts and whatnot.
Gabe and JJ enjoying a sunny southern day...that is actually Gabe's smile.

Here are the N boyz on the set of "Leaves of Grass", the movie that was being filmed in town. This was the shul scene, filmed the day after Rosh Hashanah at the synagogue. Gabe lasted for all of 10 seconds until we were quickly ushered away with our too-loud-for-the-scene kid. Asher and Jonathan spent the day on the set and have a pretty good chance of being in the movie, right alongside of Richard Dreyfuss and Edward Norton!

So this isn't a very good picture. But it's amusing and perfectly characterizes how kids of different ages act...sleeping newborn cousin Billy, chewing on hand four-month old Isaac, and cannot sit still Gabe.

THANK GOODNESS for Delta play area at the airport. Life. Saver.
And a few shots from Roanoke...
Robin's parents with Gabe and new cousin Sarah....love the Gabe smile.

Papaw
We keep this blog for several reasons -- for ourselves to document growing Gabe, for our friends to check in when they want, and for our family who is far away. I think the person who got the greatest joy out of the blog was Gabe's great-grandfather, Papaw. He would print out the photos and call us when a photo or video made his day. His favorite videos were bookmarked and watched over and over again. Gabe and the rest of us will miss Papaw a lot.
