We lost a dear friend this week. Louis Van Thyn was a Holocaust survivor and a close friend of Evan's family for many years. He and his wife Rose got to visit with Gabe each time we went to Shreveport. This photo was taken on our last trip.

Fun on The Mall

Gabe loves the children's garden at the U.S. Botanic Gardens on the National Mall. He shrieks and runs and jumps when we arrive and makes a mad dash for the little house with the tiny chair on the porch. After about two seconds in the mini-Adirondack he rises and declares, "All done!"

Gabe also loves the large pots of water in the gardens, which are just the right height for maximum splashability.
